jdaming
OH BTW scoring is MP and nobody has advice or an opinon? The 3 of you that saw the deal excluded.
jdonn
I don't know what your last post means but I would splinter. Not perfect with a singleton king, but 4♠ isn't exactly more descriptive anyway so it's the best I've got.
mike777
nonexpert 4s.....if pard prefers 4c npp.
jillybean
I cant imagine a passed hand that will now give us 6 - 4♠

Mbodell
I'm down for 4♠. It is MP, 6♠ is unlikely, telling the opponents about our stiff club may cost a trick, and partner is unlikely to evaluate his hand right even if we do splinter. Fluffy
I like 4♠, partner will know that his heart holding must be very good to move on.
Codo
4 ♣, but 4 ♠ is fine too.
mtvesuvius
Partner held K983 6 542 A9863... Should he do something over 4♣ or signoff in 4♠?
Fluffy
Sing off quickly, we have too few trumps for anything to work.
Cascade
Partner held K983 6 542 A9863... Should he do something over 4♣ or signoff in 4♠? Its marginal. I expect my partner to do something with a decent minimum with nothing wasted. Here though I would rather have the ♦ A in which case I would definitely do something. Although compensating a little for that we do have a heart shortage which maybe of benefit. Also it would be much better if we had a fifth trump. I think 4♠ is enough. Apollo81
The only reasonable choices are 4♣ and 4♠ since we have a game-forcing strength hand. I prefer 4♣ because it leaves partner room to try for slam at the 4-level.
Apollo81
Partner held K983 6 542 A9863... Should he do something over 4♣ or signoff in 4♠? I'd cue 4♥ with this.
P_Marlowe
Hi, The answer is most likely yes, since for slam to be reasonableyou prefer to have partners values to be outside of clubs. Given that 4C also gives partner some room to cue bid, I wouldsay the bid is fine, although I am certain I would bid the lazy 4S. P_Marlowe
Partner held K983 6 542 A9863... Should he do something over 4♣ or signoff in 4♠? Sign of. Move the Ace of clubs to another suit, and we can start talking, even than the hand is min. for the bidding, so I would even than simply sign of.
