matmat
A6AT8742J3J75 R/W, imps, second seat. (2♦) - P - (3♦) - P( P ) - ?
mtvesuvius
Nope. I think the 3♦ bidder probably has some major suit cards, and partner probably has short diamonds, and he didn't act... So I pass.
hotShot
No, i'll just pass. The best that opps can score on their own now is 110 or 130. And it's far from sure that they make 3♦ at all. Partner had his chance to act and he did not, so I won't improve opps score by going down in a contract of our own. the hog
Pass. Bidding here is the sort of thing that destroys partnerships. If you were going to bid, bid immediately, though the hand is not good enough for that.

hotShot
I'm a bidder... 3♥ Are you aiming at the single IMP for 1 down red against 130 (3♦+1)? Or do you expect to make 3♥, what would your partner need to enter the bidding over 3♦? Or do you hope to drive opps to 4♦ done something? kenrexford
Maybe a tad aggressive here, but I don't think I would face this problem. 2♥ over 2♦ would have been my call.
xcurt
Or do you expect to make 3♥, what would your partner need to enter the bidding over 3♦? I think you have to suck it up and bid 2♥ the first round. Something like ♠K, ♥Qxx, ♣ATx is going to give you decent play for 3, and make the trump holding Kxxx and you're going to have a shot at 4. Partner isn't bidding with any of those hands on the 3-level after LHO raises (or sows confusion with a conventional 2NT call). Partner also isn't raising with the second hand when we come back in after an initial pass.

Well at least you aren't hoping for much. :)
