jillybean
This will drive you nuts!! Have fun! The object of the game is to move the red block around without getting hit by the blue blocks or touching the black walls. If you can go longer than 18 seconds you are phenomenal. It's been said that the US Air Force uses this for fighter pilot training. (yeah, right!) They are expected to go for at least 2 minutes. 11.4 is my best so far! http://members.iinet.net.au/~pontipak/redsquare.html
Echognome
20.1 but I didn't play long. It seems just a matter of finding the safe path between the blocks as they move around on a set pattern.
mtvesuvius
27.442 seconds now... Pretty good now :( Edited February 18, 2009 by mtvesuvius
kenrexford
Made it over 37 seconds on my third try. Cool. Maybe a new career?

barmar
I suck at this, I tried about a half dozen times and haven't made it past about 6 seconds.

Trumpace
I had played this a long time back but at some other site. Strange this seems to have been copied ditto without any attribution (or maybe I am mistaken, in which case, I apologise). Anyway, after comparing scores etc, me and my friend came to the conclusion that the speed of your computer matters and the time in seconds does not mean much. So my guess is that kenrexford has a really slow computer. I suggest you buy a new one for all the bidding simulations you do :)
matmat
20.47 what gets me are the speed changes. :/ also? I need a better mouse or a less hiccupy computer...
neilkaz
Old men shouldn't play this game I did it 5 times and never last even a half a second. OH well back to backgammon and bridge for me.
barmar
High-speed hand-eye coordination has never been my strong point. I never really got into video games that require rapid moving around. I could do OK on games like Space Invader or Tetris, but that was about my limit. gwnn
This is really annoying, I can't get to 20, but I almost always get past 19. ;)
matmat
This is really annoying, I can't get to 20, but I almost always get past 19. :( that's one of the spots where it speeds up.
Mbodell
One way to help normalize the speed is to measure how long it takes to die if you don't move the square. I have 2 work computers and on one running firefox it takes around 0.322 seconds to die. On this computer I find it hard to get past 20, I usually die between 17.5 and 20. On the other computer running IE it takes 0.4 seconds to die if I don't move the square. On this computer I get past 20 all the time, and usually die around 25. JanM
Old women shouldn't play this either! I usually die in about 1 second, and after some effort managed to stay alive for 9.1 seconds :)

helene_t
11.3 still my record, usually I am dead before the 2 sec mark. This is a stupid test. The geography quiz provides much more insight into someone's cognitive capabilities.
gwnn
21.588 on firefox yay! btw you can make it to at least 10 seconds by just moving to the top left corner and staying there. I don't think this is used as a test for the airforce, since there are much more effective ways of training online.

H_KARLUK
http://members.iinet.net.au/~pontipak/redsquare.html You survived 0.375 seconds ! Hold on, this time I ll kick it  3rd attempt (I got a printscreen): You survived 10.953 seconds! Omg, wise and neat test. Last attempt : (I got another printscreen and an external mouse to my laptop)You survived 11.141 seconds! Thanks, I really enjoyed. 13.797 Hmm, i need more practising  Edited February 25, 2009 by H_KARLUK
kenberg
Interesting. Following the suggestions above I switched from Firefox to IE and improved my score from a fraction of a second to 4+ seconds. So does this mean IE is good (I last longer) or bad (the blue guys move slower)? With Firefox I basically have no chance to move before being caught. With IE I think I could improve with a little practice. Really it's all the mouse's fault. Or as the old song says, Blame it on the Rolling Stones. Aberlour10
After several tries I got to +- 20sec, but my machine is not a modern jet, more... something like Messerschmitt 109 B) Robert
