If people read this, we would probably not be having some of the recent discussions that came up. Perhaps this poll will serve as a refresher to those who have read it but have forgotten. Quoting the guidelines section: ...here's some general guidelines to keep the boards friendly and useful: 1. Keep posts on-topic and in the correct boards. We will move/delete threads that are in an improper place. This makes it easier for people to find the information they want. 2. If you should come across inappropriate content for whatever reason please send a message to one of the administrators. We will take care of it as soon as we can. 3. Please respect the purposes of the beginner-intermediate and advanced-expert forums. Simple questions should be kept out of the advanced discussion area whereas overwhelming newbies with bridge information is generally poor form. 4. The official language of the boards is English. However a signficant amount of our userbase does not speak our native tongue so please be careful about this. As language groups become prevalent on the boards we will establish language-based forums for those users. This makes it easier for people to find the information they want. except for moving threads to the water cooler. I think that this is repeating a theme from a few infamous threads, but if rules are not regularly enforced, then people behave worse in response. All the problems we have are named in these 4 points. So when all had read, understoood and followed these advices, we had no problems.
