whereagles
Being unbalanced, I'm ok with dbl + pull to 2/3♦.

ggwhiz
I'm a coward with 2♦ but don't see much game potential unless we have a HUGE diamond fit or partner can squeek a bid. Without some kind of diamond fit, this hand is going nowhere. Making it easy for them to find a 4-4 spade fit might be good too.

jdonn
I would double because I'm going to treat this as balanced and rebid notrump over spade bids.
Phil
2♦. Double is suicide with a stiff spade. 1N is wrong on several counts. You could even improve the hand slightly and I'd still overcall.
andy_h
2D, but no hard feelings for 1NT.
Codo
1 Nt is wrong for shape and strength, so maybe some thing that two wrongs make one right? They level each other out? I would double, np so far.
Fluffy
I prefer 1NT to double, it solves the problem of partner jumping high in spades by showing balanced on first round, and we just need to downgrade the stiif queen to meet the strenght requirements. Apollo81
I would double because I'm going to treat this as balanced and rebid notrump over spade bids. Another reason I like double (besides Josh's) is that I am ok with sitting for 4♠ if partner blasts that.

Change the Q to J or lower and I agree that we cannot double with that hand.

You could even improve the hand slightly and I'd still overcall. I think that's just cliche. If I'm going to rebid notrump then what's the difference? Partner won't insist on a 5 card suit, and if he insists on a 6 card suit then I'd say I have a much better dummy than most 2443 hands I could have. My other excuse was there is no way I'm listening to what someone who would bid 2♦ on a GOOD 20+ count says about suicide. :)

Fluffy
You guys like the 5-1 fit more than me :).
shevek
Well, double is gaining ground. At the table, double or 2♦ would have worked but the actual 1NT did not. Partner passed that with ♠A64 ♥JT93 ♦J832 ♣74 Diamonds come in so 3NT & 5♦ both make.
