JLOL
South should bid game but I confess I'd have probably bid 4S. Not without play but clearly inferior to 3N. Maybe south should bid 3D and north 3N, dunno. It's not too shocking that 3N is the right spot with the south hand so I guess that means 4S would be a bad bid. rogerclee
Maybe south should have bid 2♠ instead of 1♠, but I think it's close and 1♠ is really fine. 3♠ was bad though, this is definitely a 3N bid. North bid his hand very well.

brianshark
1♦-P-P-2♠P-3NT-P-PP I don't see why you should make a vague 1♠ bid when a more descriptive 2♠ fits.
Edmunte1
-South hand is between 1♠ and 2♠, i prefer 1♠;-North bid well 2NT-South has a pretty obvious 3nt bid
neilkaz
I like a 3♦ bid from S and then north looking at a max and a double stop bids 3NT. South's 3♠ is an underbid on the given auction, IMO.
peachy
Some have suggested 2S instead of 1S. I thought the "standard" without agreements is that it is an intermediate hand of about 13-16 with good spades in the balancing seat. Despite the good playing strength, this is not good enough in raw HCP so 2S could mislead partner. But if 2S by sys is normal then 2S it is. Not for me but I would certainly go to game if partner advances 2NT - which should be good opening but wrong shape for TO Double.
jdonn
3♦ by south would have been a good bid over 2NT imo, but I doubt I would have thought to do it. I also agree with the last poster that we aren't (quite) good enough to balance with 2♠. But I really can't remember the last time I discussed it with a live partner either. P_Marlowe
South should bid 4S. 2NT showes at least 12-14, a bal. hand, this makes it at least 22-24, and a fit, soSouth should simply bid 4S. 3S is the bid, you would choose without theAce of clubs. With kind regardsMarlowe
