JLOL
double even though 3N could be the winner I'll just take the cash.
gnasher
I would have bid 1NT on the previous round.

uday
I might have X'd the 1st time to show values. I think J is right - X sounds good ( i'd lead a trump) -- try for 200.
awm
I would also have bid 1NT on the previous round. Now I am somewhat concerned about their diamond fit. Partner's doubles could easily be a hand short in diamonds (he did make a takeout double after all), and they could easily have a nine-card fit there. I don't think partner will remove my double of 2♦ if he holds AQxx AQxx x KQxx or the like and 2♦ could well make (any in any case we probably make 5♣ and 2♦-1 won't be a great result). On the other hand, having failed to show my values on the first round of bidding I don't feel like I can exactly pass now. I suppose double might be the least of evils (it also depends a bit on how silly opponents are about bidding diamonds opposite a "short" diamond and how likely partner is to double twice with an "off-shape" hand -- my feeling is a lot of precision pairs are actually quite silly in this respect). Apollo81
Either double or 3NT will work well; partner has AJT9 ATx Qx AKxx. 3NT was the contract at the other table, where 1NT was overcalled and the OP's hand invited game. Double gets the 800 though.
