H_KARLUK
Match-point pairs; Love all♠KJ85 ♥73 ♦KJ6542 ♣Q West dealts and opens 3♥ preemptive. Your partner bids 3NT. Righty pass. May I have your call ?
Walddk
Who jumped? You can't bid fewer NT's than 3 over 3♥. 3NT can be most any hand (wide-ranging), so I pass. Roland
jdonn
Gotta pass, this should be an easy decision. Partner's most likely hand is a strong notrump or so.
dicklont
Pass. Many hands can bid 3NT, balanced distribution is not garanteed at all.Don't try to improve the contract, you have no idea where to go.
andy_h
Pass. Let's not try and get too technical when 3NT is most likely going to be our best spot. Pre-empts are annoying but what else can you do.
skjaeran
Easy pass. Of course we might belong in game or slam in some other strain. But I think it's odds on that 3NT is our best spot.
kfay
If I consider anything it's that 5♦ might be better than 3NT. But I rule that thought out in about 0.5 seconds. Pass.

Well I could not find better at that moment. Time was nearly short to finish th round. She jumped to 5♦ less than a second.I passed. What would i bid with her hand? Pass for sure. As th room's 99% passed. When session finished I asked her reason. She said "Pal, distribution was ugly". Ouch, I sealed my lips. I think th good lord still loves me :)
Walddk
3♥ is normal (although some would open 1 or 4♥), 3NT is normal, pass is normal and down 3 is normal. Your partner found the winning call. I congratulate her. She would likely have made 6♦ too if she had been in it. Roland
gnasher
I think 4♥ is normal, and 3♥ decidedly an underbid. In my dreams, a 4♥ opening leads to 4♠ down two, or 4♥ passed out because North knows what a takeout double looks like and knows that he doesn't have one. In real life, they overreach to 6♦ and make it by ruffing out ♣K.
