Problems with teaching table logs?

There seems to be a set of conditions under which a log is not output from a teaching table - unfortunately I'm not sure what they are ;)

My teaching session this evening did not create a log. I was playing in three positions for the first 5 boards, and then kibitzed for the last 4 boards. No log was created.

The chat log is fine, all the comments are there :P

My options are to log all hands. I'm running the 3.7.3 release, but I'm not sure its purely down to this.

Sorry I cannot provide any definitive bug.

Deals are not added to a log file unless a result is achieved.

Many teachers do not go to the end of play or claim when

they present deals at teaching tables (especially when the

lesson is about the bidding).

I suspect that this is what happened.

Yes, we could improve things in this area and I suspect we

will eventually. Most likely the next change to the log files

will involve having an option to automatically insert chat

into the appropriate places of the bidding/play sequence

of each deal. This would be a nice thing for both teaching

tables and for vugraph.

Fred I suspect that there is something else going on here.

I get requests from time to time from people who have tried to log the session but it has not worked.

e.g. In the session that I hosted on Friday with you and Roland in the 2/1 club I received a request for the logs from someone who said they were there all of the time. I carefully claimed on every deal to get a log and the log saved successfully for me but the person who emailed me said that their log contained only one hand.

Leaving the table and then returning (either intentionally or

via a disconnect) would result in the type of thing the student

in question describes, Wayne.

I was at the table the entire time and my log file was perfect.

This is quite possible although I did know that finishing a hand was important. This specific session did have lots of replaying the hand, i.e., getting to trick 12, winding back to trick 3, forward to trick 7, back to trick 3 again :) and then on to the end.

Is it necessary to finish every hand, or just the last one?

This would be great ... I hadn't realised that chat and play could be synchronised in the logs. Unexpectedly there does appear to be a demand from my regulars to see the sessions they've missed :D

Thanks,

Only board in which either a claim is made or all 52

cards are played out (or a passout) will appear in the

log files.

If you leave the table (either or purpose or because of

a disconnection) a log file of all the hands you have seen

for which results were achieved will be created. If you

then rejoin the table, a new log file will start to be built.

At least this is how it is supposed to work. It is possible

that there is a bug in this area, but I doubt it.
