Phil
Just saw this hand kibbing in the MBC: [hv=d=s&n=sjt9843hd32caq532&s=sk5hakqjt32dact96]133|200|Scoring: IMP[/hv] You play in 4♥ and a diamond is led. Trumps are 3-3. Can you guarantee 10 tricks?
helene_t
Wow, that's a nice one! If all four black honors are offside I have to get a discard before they take their four tricks. Trying to discard a spade on clubs won't work as they can take their two spade tricks as soon as East gets the lead......
IdiotVig
I'll try: Win, draw trumps, discarding 2 spades and a club. Play the Ks out of hand. If either opponent returns a diamond, play a spade up. If LHO wins and returns a club, duck it. Basic idea, set up spades before touching clubs. You get two club pitches on the good spades. At most, you lose two spades and a club.
Echognome
Good hand to think about. Easy enough given as a problem, but certainly the type of hand to look out for when playing.
