jdonn
I'm sure this is a copout, but I don't think it matters much in the sense there isn't tons of difference between them.
Phil
3♣. If there's any future in this hand it's clubs, not spades. Passing could be right, but its not winning bridge. To the side question, I think 4♣ shows a real good hand, but not the 1.5 loser hand posted earlier. Probably AKxxxx, x, void, KJxxxx. Cascade
At the table 3♣ was bid and then the doubling started: [hv=d=s&v=n&n=st6hq32dkt9543ct3&w=s2hj987da762caq86&e=sq985hakt6dqj8cj4&s=sakj743h54dck9752]399|300|Scoring: IMP[/hv] West North East South - - - 1♠ Dbl Pass 2♠ 3♣ Dbl 3♠ Pass Pass Dbl Pass Pass Pass It occurred to me that over the 2♠ cue it is relatively dangerous to enter the auction since there is no guarantee that the opponents have a fit and they are showing strength. At equal vulnerability a sacrifice at the five level is unlikely to save a lot. It may even be safer to enter the auction with 4♣ if RHO responds 3♥ than after the cue-bid. Finch
umm... what's the point?3Sx looks to be 300 or 500. This is hardly a disaster against the 4H contract they were about to bid and make.
