How should they have reached 6♠ (doubled down two for -500 is much better than -980)? Or are they just unlucky?
Hanoi5
I blame South, if s/he push them to 6...
JLOL
Just unlucky
Apollo81
Sacrificing at unfavorable at the 6-level is tough. If there's any blame (not much if any) then i'd blame mostly north for not bidding 2♠ over 1♥ (i wouldnt bid that either)
Fluffy
given that 5♠ could be -500 switching E-W hands very little I don't really like that bid much. Maybe I am just resulting. EDIT: I just saw that north bid 1♠ with a weak 2 hand, why did he do it?
awm
given that 5♠ could be -500 switching E-W hands very little I don't really like that bid much. Maybe I am just resulting. The other side of this is that given the vulnerability, East doesn't really need to have any high cards at all. North could have a much better hand (he is fairly minimum for an unfavorable overcall, and East is very strong for a favorable 4♥ bid) and 5♠ could be cold. I thought a more interesting possibility for south might be to bid 5♣ over 4♥ (fit-showing hopefully) or 5♠ directly over 4♥ (forcing more of a guess on E/W). I don't think bidding 4♠ and passing 5♥ is a particularly good sequence of calls (although it is conceivable that it could "work" given the actual hands and E/W bidding). JLOL
Anyone who is overcalling 2S red/white deserves an LOL imo.

Isn't it just far too likely that EW are saving to consider saving yourself?
