If that elicits 3♠ or 4♣ you're probably about to reach the right game rather than the wrong one; if he bids 3♥ you can bid 3NT and have lost nothing; if he bids 4♦ he probably has five of them. Do they still call Xmas for such days? :P It may not seem rationale to expect by partner to bid 3N. I think nice extra values with given hand. I admit a difficult choice.
