HeavyDluxe
Today, I downloaded a couple old bulletins from a past EBL Youth championship. One hand in an article showed a 6-card position from which south could take all the remaining tricks. The article made the position's solution seem obvious, but it took me a while to figure it out. Are there any good books of single or double dummy problems out there that you'd recommend a int+ player consider working through? I'd be particularly interested in any that have some 'exposition' of the right solution and some pointers a to why alternatives are incorrect. Thanks.... G_R__E_G
Here is a link to Richard Pavlicek's site that has some amazing double dummy puzzles but unfortunately no analysis. That said, with some perserverance even a beginner can figure them out as they are only 5 card endings. http://www.rpbridge.net/9p01.htm
Trumpace
For single dummy for Int+ I would recommend Eddie Kantar's Test your Play Volume 2. The one with the Red cover (in case I am mistaken about the volume number). He also has a black one (Vol one i think), but I wouldn't recommend that for Adv-. Even though he usually does not discuss alternatives, I would say go for it. There are many books following the theme of "Play these hands with me" by Reese and others, which will discuss alternatives etc, but might be a little advanced for beg/int. Bridge Master vs Bridge Amateur by Horton might help too, but I haven't read it so I cannot say how good/bad it is, it is also supposedly aimed for the int+ levels.
