And now?

3 (3 if you can) seems good. Either the king of diamonds is on my right or RHO is psyching with a big heart fit. In either case I want to be aggressive, but I don't like just going to 4 because partner will push toward slam too often over it.

Contested or uncontested?

Hahaha good question, I was assuming contested. I guess that's because uncontested it seems like a wtp 2.

Uncontested (I put parentheses around contested bids).

Maybe we'll get a good bidding diagram button on here one of these days

how about

1d - 1h

1s - 1n

?

i don't understand why people try to put all the bids on a single line.

2d for me.

Me neither.

A good bidding diagram template would be nice to have. But it should be possible to post auctions that can't be misunderstood without it.

Just like we can post play problems without the diagrams too.

Anyway, I bid a mildly crazy 3N over 1N. If pard has his bid and a small doubleton diamond, I think we have the right IMP odds. Pard did have Axx A9xxxx JTxx. Got a club lead, club continuation (with the King (?!)), but the Kx was onside so 3N turned out to be monumentally lucky.

I've given the hand to a lot of people, and I'm getting a lot of support for anything from 2, 3 and 3N. Personally, I think its close but 3N is an overbid, since there are a lot of hands where it has no play, and some others pard will move over 2.

If partner has 2 little diamonds and 2 aces don't you think he would bid 3N over 3D? If you bid 3N that seems to imply that you think you will miss games often enough when partner is passing that to justify bidding 3N. No offense to you but that seems really absurd to me.

Sure its absurd, but since I'm getting a lot of 2, wtp, I think its far from a non-problem.
