mike777
1nt I really strain to have 4 cards in a major to respond to a neg x.
andy_h
Am I really that weird? I thought this was an easy 2C. Don't like 1NT as I'm unbalanced (and no red suits), 2H can easily work but I don't go out my way to bid my 3 card hearts over a negative double when I have other options and here, I have to bid as I don't have a penalty pass so I'm left with 2C. Don't see anything wrong with 2C because I can't strain this 2C bid to be always 6 cards as sometimes I can't bid anything else but 2C with 3145, 2335 or 2245, etc. Some of these balanced hands can rebid 1NT without a stopper but my hand here has concentrated clubs so it's an easy 2C for me. neilkaz
1nt I really strain to have 4 cards in a major to respond to a neg x. I also want 4♥ unless I am stuck for a bid. My ♣ are wonderful and more than PD can expect so 2♣. I prefer 1NT to be more flat, but if PD bid 1NT in my shoes I won't comment against that. 2♣

I don't think your suggestion about 2♣ is that weird, I could go either way between 1NT and 2♣ with some convincing. What I don't understand is 2♥, I can't think of enough bad things to say about it. helene_t
But if LHO had passed, everyone here would say 2♥ was second choice (after 1♠), even if 1♥ was Walsh, right? What's the difference? OK p can't have a good hand with five hearts, but I think we must focus on the weak options first. Anyway, 1NT for me but I can live with all three non-confusing choices. whereagles
2♣. PASS if I need a top :)
jdonn
I love to pass negative doubles with four in their overcalled suit and an unbalanced hand. But this one is a little too minimum and a little too offensive so 1NT I guess.

Apollo81
1NT I think my 2 spade high cards will stop the onslaught well enough for me to come up with 7 tricks most of the time.
