helene_t
idiot + idiot = -800... probably above average for this pair Even if trumps are 2-2 it should be -1400 on a trump lead and spade continuation, shouldn't it?
kfay
Riotous laughter. I can understand 3♣. Colors... good hand to play in a major (relatively speaking) etc... not really my choice and I preempt way too much as it is. I think Roger laughing at me tempered me somewhat. 4♣ is :D
jdonn
BTW one of the funniest hands I ever saw, it went 3♣ X, and responder was 2290 and bid 5♣. Fourth player had three clubs and bid some slam, and watched the defense start A K ruff in clubs as the doubler also had three.

Cascade
Can't comment since there is no auction for the first hand nor is there a hand shown for the given auction.

Fluffy
I didn't see anything wrong on south's bidding really. Bidding twice after a preempt is something silly, justified maybe if you had a 4 level opening that didn't wanna bypass 3NT (or the system didn't let it open). But not the case. kenrexford
OK. I'll fess up. I was South. My thoughts went something like this: 1. The opponents have a game in a major, surely. 2. I cannot bid 4♦ myself, because we play that as showing both majors.3. Although I am willing to go to 5♦ myself, there is not that much in the way of reason yet.4. 4♣ will not be the final contract.5. I can handle partner rebidding clubs, albeit a rare possibility, because I am willing to go to 5♦.6. What can go wrong? (LOLOL) My final pass was based on this thought: 1. If 5♦ does not demand that partner pass, he won't pass 6♦ either. Of course, they cannot make 5♥ or 5♠ on best defense. They might even have problems in 4.
