lol no

It's obviously not worth a limit raise (you would puke if partner drives to 3N over that) but are you really happy bidding 3? This hand is quite powerful, and either we can ruff a couple of spades or opponents have a big fit there (and may still get there over 3).

I would bid 4 which should be a mixed raise, not preemptive, in this position. (I don't like 4 since the spade shortness, rather than the club suit, seems to be the feature of this hand.)

4 fit bid anyone?

Yes, with a king more.

This hand also isn't good enough for me to call 4 as I've seen too many PD's overcall 2 on junk (noting that I overcall aggressively anyhow, but these overcalls are from outer space somewhere)

3 is forward going enough for me, and often buys the hand when we have no game and doesn't prevent PD with a max from taking another call.

I chose 3, IMO I didn't have a limit raise. My partner felt strongly that I did, and that I should bid 2. Anyway, I bid 3 and LHO bid 3 which was the final contract. The full deal:[hv=d=w&v=n&n=sj643hdak9843caj8&w=sakq982hkq53dqct6&e=st5ha98764dj5c973&s=s7hjt2dt762ckq542]399|300|Scoring: IMP

As you see, my partner should have bid 5, but was afraid to do so opposite a hand too weak for a limit raise.[/hv]

As South, West Deals, Nobody Vul. 7 JT2 T762 KQ542

(1) - 2 - (P) - ?

Is this worth a limit raise?

More to come later...

I agree with neilkaz 4 = 10. 4 = 9, 5 = 8, 3 = 7, 3 = 6, 2 = 5.

Sorry if I'm picking on you today :) but generous to give a 10 to a bid that you agree is short a king, no?

Did your partner opine about whether a liimit raise was suitable with KQ instead of KQ?
