Finch Posted January 9, 2009 Report Share Posted January 9, 2009 I play the 3M response as showing a 5-card suit, and responder's new major suit bid as agreeing the major. fred Posted January 9, 2009 Report Share Posted January 9, 2009 Even if you play regular Stayman (ie Stayman asks for a 4-card major as opposed to a 5-card major), it is very normal in USA expert circles (and likely non-expert circles too) to use these sequences as (artificial) slam tries in support of the major that opener bid.
