btw what is an autosplinter?

It's a splinter for your own suit. I don't believe it is the correct terminology here since it would only apply when your suit has not been supported, like 1 p 1NT p 4. 2 shows club support.

I also have the agreement we can only splinter in the opponents' suit, so this is natural to me. I think it might be logical to play this game forcing but 2 3 3 as not game forcing (or even forcing perhaps.)

The hands were:

[hv=d=w&v=b&n=shq9853d43cakt653&s=saj42htda982cqj94]133|200|Scoring: MP

(1) - 2 - (P) - 2

(X) - 3 - (P) - 4

(X) - 6 - (P) - 6

(X) - 7 - (P) - P

(X) - All Pass[/hv]

I probably should have cuebid 4 now, then it's easier. (But that might have gotten passed ;))

Where did we go wrong (other than being on the same page about the autosplinter)?

(Edit: 7 was -1 ofc)

I would consider this a splinter, not having the aforementioned agreement.

Ignoring the whole natural/splinter thing, I don't like the 4 bid. You shouldn't skip the cue, and probably should be bidding 4 regardless of whether you think 3 was natural or not.
