You’ll occasionally see a couple odd bids forced on you. Please don’t complain too much. Have some fun.

9. Assuming we're missing a spot card, then:

Extra - Pass, unless playing Ekren's

Extra - 2

Extra - Pass

Extra - Pass, unless playing Muiderberg

10. Impossible without knowing what 2 showed. Opening 1NT is certainly rich and I can live with answering a question about a situation I would not have been in, but not without knowing what partner's bid showed.

9. 2. I don't like it, but my partners know my pre-empting style (and hopefully my opponents don't... :D)

10. I also abstain. Why am I opening 1NT with a 6 Card Major?!?! If I only had 5, then I may answer this question. But not with 6!!

9. 2. No worries from me as I preempt like a junior.

10. I join those who don't love the 1nt opening. In IMPs I could see whipping out the 3nt. At matchpoints I don't want to be in my 4-3 fit when we may well be 6-3 in the other major. A good 6 card suit doesn't make me think 2nt is so good (if it runs we are likely to make 3, if it doesn't we may not make 2). I think I bid 3 (but I think I'm partially motivated by not wanting to put this hand down as dummy - maybe I should just put the 65 of in with my and pass and pretend I thought I was 3442)

Objection: Stayman asks for a four-card major, the proper answer is 2.

This must be a better than average 1NT as far as playing strength goes. I accept the invitation and bid 3N.

Pass and 3.

On the first, your suit is just not good enough. In 2nd seat vulnerable you need to have your bid.

On the 2nd, it's a fairly clear 3 bid. It gives you a chance to find game in hearts if you have a fit there, which seems very likely. Partner will probably treat it as 5 card suit and choice of games, but even if he passes for some reason, I'm not necessarily unhapppy with only a 14 count.

Edited because I said favourable instead of vulnerable.

Hi,

I wont complain, and if I answer, I usually have fun,

... the fun may go away, if I am feel inclined to make

the 4th or 5th post in the same thread.

#9 Pass

A matter of partnership agreement, but the suit quality is

terrible, and I have lots of values outside.

#10 4H

Assuming this hand is an valid NT opener in the partnership,

4H should this.

Assuming the hand is not an valid NT opener, ... 4H should

do the job anyway, it cant be a splinter, or?

With kind regards

Marlowe
