Minor Jump Rebids

Suppose you hold a hand with a 6-card or longer minor and a side 4-card major. You open your minor, and partner responds at the one-level. Let's assume your hand is strong enough to rebid three of your minor suit. Would you ever do this rather than bid your major?

There must come a point but I don't know where it is - probably somewhere around good 7-card suit and poor 4-card suit.

I voted for never, but actually with some swans like Wayne and Roger, I might bid 3m, specially over 1NT

I dont think its possible, assume youve got a swan with a solid suit, i still like to bid my M because 3NT maybe be better then 5m, if my 7 card suit isnt solid then i probably have pts in my M so 4M could be better then 5m.

 

So its very close to never anyway

Playing otherwise standard methods I would nearly always bid the major if 4-6, and usually bid the major if 4-7.

Since in a recent poll I rebid 3♦ with - T9xx AKQxxx AKx or something, I guess I'd be lying if I said 4-6 is impossible! I can't remember ever doing it at the table with 4-6 though.
