Cascade
Pass, 1NT and 2♦ all have merit. I prefer to bid. With two ruffing values I raise diamonds. Partner can find out about the heart stopper later if interested.

Hanoi5
2♦ or 1NT. Sometimes I like to play the hand, GIB kinda sucks at it.
Viren169
3D for me... - shut out the spades- sorts out the men from the boys!

mcphee
3D simply does not show what we have as it is pre-emptive, so we hold the KS too much for that action in addition to being short a trump. I do not consider pass an option here. I prefer to raise D a level even with the great gib. 2D looks like this. 1NT may shake off the opps from re-entering the bidding over 2D PP ?. If the H hand holds short D as is likely they might dble for t/o and we have an ok defensive hand for H and my bet is partner holds at least 3-3 black suits and some days 4-4 is also quite possible here. There are other downsides to pre-empting in D such as missing a game or loss of a healthy penalty.
ArtK78
I really do not understand any call other than 2♦. Right on strength. Right on support. Right on shape. Every other call is flawed.
skjaeran
2♦. Expect to score +110 or more if we can make +90 in 1NT, +130 if we can make +120 in 1NT (and, not to forget, +90 or better when 1NT goes one or more off).
whereagles
Seems like an easy 2♦, though 3♦ has some merit.
helene_t
3D for me... - shut out the spades- sorts out the men from the boys! Juniors bid more aggressively, right?
dburn
Don't mind 3♦, but might get us an unnecessary minus when no one can make much of anything - imagine partner with 4=1=4=4 shape, for example. 2♦ is normal enough. 1NT is vile.
