glen
[hv=d=w&v=n&s=sa2ha953djt9ca762]133|100|Scoring: MP[/hv]1♦-P-1♠-X;-P-2♥-P-P;-2♠-P-P-? You doubled, then passed 2♥, and now Pass, 3♥, or Double? I didn't poll this question, as its not a great poll, but I would like to see any views on what is the right bid here, and should double be "your choice partner" or be more penalty or takeout oriented. Thanks in advance.
gnasher
Pass. Even in the 21st century, partner will already be playing me for four hearts, four clubs, and about a minimum opener. Aces may be nice, but I really don't have enough extra to justify a bid.

Our hand is exactly what we said it was and essentially nothing more than that, so if we should be bidding 3♥ then partner was in a position to do so. Winstonm
As certain as I am that it is right to pass 2S, I am equally certain that we are getting a lousy result. I cannot remember the last time my opponents stopped in 2S and it was average or above.
effervesce
If I had to bid, I'd bid a 'do what's right' double, not bid 3♥. The problem with bidding 3♥ is you are not certain the opps have an 8 card fit. If they do, then probably 2♥ and 2♠ both make, and 3♥-1 would be par. If they have a 7 card fit, then you got robbed of 2♥= to a likely 2♠-1. If partner has 4 spades, 2♠X is probably the place to be. If he has 3 he can bid 3♥. I am passing though. skjaeran
No reason to believe this is a non-normal contract. I'm passing and expect our good defence to bring in an average or better result.
MFA
Pass for sure. Partner should take us to 3♥ if it is right. They could easily be on a 7-card fit and we might be so as well. As certain as I am that it is right to pass 2S, I am equally certain that we are getting a lousy result. I cannot remember the last time my opponents stopped in 2S and it was average or above.I disagree. There are plenty of boards where we have no business at the 3-level over the enemies' 2♠. It should be fine to sell.
