What do you think this shows?

The same as if RHO had passed. Maybe this is not best, but it is just so easy for your opponents to be light (or psyching). There was a similar MSC problem in the last year or two that dealt with a situation like this, I believe most people who mentioned the cuebid said that they played it this way.

If pass would show no preference (rather than being a penalty pass), natural would make a lot of sense.

With that hand, why can't you just pass and then bid 2?

Well, you can also pass very well with almost all the hands suggested here. Bidding a natural 2 right away makes it a lot harder for opponents to sort out their muddy redouble hand.

I think my preferences are

- strong cuebid (as Roger, I have seen many dubious redoubles, and as jumps are already preemptive we need at least one bid to show strength)

- natural

- both majors constructive

in this order.

2 can't be the same as if RHO has passed if rdbl shows 10+ HCP, because with a passed RHO 2 is FG with any type of hand, and now opps clearly have the better part of the deck.

I like what manudude03 said: both majors although with 5/5 I could even be without high cards.

It means that one of the first three calls was a psyche.

That is a possibility. Or everyone is upgrading their hand and I have the remaining 10 HCP.

The 2 bid is equivalent to turning the cube to 8 (a re-redouble for those of you with no backgammon background).
