qwery_hi
I'm experiencing this as I type this. If a player bombards the lobby with chat messages, at the rate of 100+/minute, the windows client is unable to handle the load and freezes; probably form the updates it is getting from the server. or maybe the server is loaded from the messages. Unfortunately have chat from lobby on at this time. One workaround is to turn it off. Would it be possible to build a flood control for the rate at which someone can speak to the lobby? matmat
find your BBO directory on your computer. most likely in C:\bridge base online\ or C:\program files\bridge base online\ go into the profiles subdirectory find a file called BBO_qwery_hi (or whatever your login name into BBO is) edit this in Notepad (comes with windows). the second line in mine reads:IGNORE_LOBBY_CHAT=1 yours will presumably have a 0 instead of the 1, change that. saveand try again

As for the spammer, I dont think it was intentional - if someone has the enter and another key simlutaneously pressed, even if by accident, this can happen

Here is the recommended approach: 1. Log in with the Windows client 2. Click the "options" button on the toolbar (it looks like a yellow gear) 3. Click the "chat" tab in the window that appears 4. Remove the check for "ignore chat from lobby" 5. Click the OK button Fred GitelmanBridge Base Inc.www.bridgebase.com

The impression i got from the O.P. was that they had tried it, but due to the flood of messages somehow couldn't get it to work.
