pbleighton
Playing a hand, I got a message in light blue from someone in the lobby, regarding a post I had made in this forum. I typed a reply into the chat area. I got another response. I typed another reply, then nothing.Questions:1) How do you commuicate with someone playing at a table?2) Is the blue I saw visible to to others some or all of the time?3) During this communication, if the recipient at the table types something back, is it visible (is this a kibitzer?). Go to the lobby and click on their name in the long list of names... If you are at a table, click on the "lobby" button to show a list of everyone in the lobby. Click on the name of the perosn you want to chat with. 2. Blue messages are only visible to you and the person who sent it.... 3. A return message, if you or the other person click on the persons name, is visilbe only to them, and no one else. If the persons name shows up green, however, it can be seen by everyhone at the table. Useful hint... press teh control and R key at the same time to respond in private to the last person to send you a private message. pbleighton
So if I am at a table, and wsh to respond to a private message from someone outside the table I can hit control/R. Other than that, how would I send a message to this person?
inquiry
So if I am at a table, and wsh to respond to a private message from someone outside the table I can hit control/R. Other than that, how would I send a message to this person? When you are at a table, on the right hand side of the screen immediatedly below west are three buttons, labelled chat, lobby, and tables. Click on LOBBY will show you all the players who are logged into the bbo (and who are not invisible to you). Scroll if necessary with the big arrow till you can "see" the name of the person you want to talk with. Left click on their name. BTW, you may want to hit the maximize/minimize button on the top right hand side of the table window. When maximized it will give you a lot more room in the chat area at the bottom of the screen... many players seem not to have expanded this area for some reason. You may also want to try the effect of clicking on and off the two green boxes on the bottom icon bar between the two ACES of SPADES icon and the DF icon... to see what that does to the appearance of the table and the area below the table. JRG
Don't forget the simple way to chat to someone you can "see". If you click the "Chat" button at the bottom of the screen, the Chat dialog comes up so you can type your message in. Where it says "Chat to:", there is a text area with a drop-down menu button to its right. If you click on that button, then you can scroll down the list to choose a member to send a private message to. A shortcut: You can type a letter and the list will be scrolled down to that part of the alphabet. You can continue moving down the list by using the cursor arrow keys on your keyboard. Sinced the Chat dialog is going to be displayed anyway (if you try to send a chat message), you may find this more convenient. I generally only use the "Lobby" button to display the lobby while I'm at a table, if I am monitoring to see when someone logs in (I don't use the automatic friend notification as I find the messages distracting).
