Lighter in hands of the evil

Let's say they bid to 7 of a suit and

you have a singleton in a side suit.

Your pd will be the leader

Would you double 7x ? Since you have a singleton you may have had a void and declarer might scramble to 7NT where you may have more chances of defeating the contract....

Would you do the same if they are in 6x instead of 7? When?

How do you react on the other side? When do you pull to NT if the make a lightner double? Do you consider the double a possible bluff?

Hi Luis!

I already did same here in BBO. They bid 6, I was on lead and dbl for penalty, they go to 6NT, now my p was on lead, I dbl again as std "lightner" double for first bidded suit by dummy, but... He didnt lead there and they made their contract :) . 6 was cold of course...

This is cool just like the redouble on the other thread but i think you should alert it and give the opponents the all info which will make this less effective.

It's a psyche, and you cannot alert a psyche.

How many times does this need to be told to you ?

Why not just tell opps your exact hand, and get it over with.

Yeah, I wouldn't advise it against 6X, but with 7X they might be afraid. It's even more effective if you have stiff J or 10, opps will finesse, and you'll make it :D I wouldn't advise it when playing beginners, because they won't find their 'magical rescue contract'
