Was it really needed to come in now because else the bidding will be somewhere where ou cannot compete any further? Yup, if you don't bid now it comes back at 1N. jdonn Posted December 22, 2008 Report Share Posted December 22, 2008 The player at the table did bid 1NT and was rewarded when his partner bid 3NT and he scored up +600. Maybe he knew his customers, lefty opened on a poor 11-count and righty had a queen and two jacks. Maybe he got a lot of necessary finesses and 3-3 breaks and such. Maybe even some offside finesses led into him. :) I have to admit, despite a vul game being racked up in practice, I really prefer pass. Even if your opponents would bid as light as they did at the table, I still think a penalty is a lot more likely than finding a game.
