Echognome
I pass. Sucks, but I don't like any other call.
helene_t
Yeah pass, it doesn't even suck that badly IMHO.

kfay
Not my style to bid 1N here but then again I think I probably don't bid 1N often enough.

Codo
I had bid 1 NT first round. When I had jumped in your seat and see that you had passed, I had tried 1 NT now. I would hope that my pd will understand this as 5/4 in the minors... but why should he. :)
CSGibson
Pass, then 1N. Partner's never playing me for this, I hate the auction and the opponents. This won't even play well if partner doesn't have an entry. Damn.
Fluffy
reopen with 2♦, if we reopwn showing a balanced hand, partner will think we have support for his 5c suit.
whereagles
Yeah pass, it doesn't even suck that badly IMHO. It doesn't suck at all to me. The odds are it goes pass pass 1♦ pass1♥/♠ pass 2♥/♠ 2NT (minors) If it goes pass pass 1♦ passpass pass I'm pretty much ok. And if it goes pass pass 1♦ passpass dbl pass well.. yummy, yummy, yummy. andy_h
I'm passing first up, too likely you'll be playing in a 5-1 fit and I don't mind defending a diamond contract or doubling a 1S response for takeout. But 1H? hmm ok that sucks. I don't know..
y66
pass x 2 edit: whoops. can't pass now. 2D, natural.
ggwhiz
I pass first then bid 2♦ natural. I think I can make this (maybe) if pard is broke and if rho is stealing (very likely?), lho will probably bid 2♥, the doubling starts and I get a ♦ lead instead of a 4th best ♠ On further thought, I don't think this is the usual auction and would be content to escape with a 40% score and move on, ie. if I play it in 2♦. If there is more bidding after 2♦, I like my upside.
ArtK78
Pass first time. 2♦ the second time.
han
I don't think you should bid 1NT the first time, it's wrong in about every possible way and two wrongs don't make a right. It's unfortunate the bidding comes back with 1H, 1S would have been more pleasant. Since I know the hand and I know what happened at the table I'm a bit biased. I think I agree with the 2D bidders. Wait: HCP 15+-18 yesStoppers: yesbalanced: nearly So I guess 1 NT is wrong when you play it as raptor because else, the bid is right in nearly every possible way. We hate the singelton spade, but this is the only wrong thing. (it is a big downside, but just one...)
han
Yeah you do have stoppers, that is true.
dcvetkov
Parss Firstdouble 1H second1NT over likely partner's 1Sraise 2C to 3 CDouble anything they bid on 2 level, or maybe partner can whack them
