H_KARLUK
1st seat when both vuln. 2 ♥ may be an aggressive one. Perhaps most players could pass on the field. What would i bid if my righty would not start with 2 ♥ weak single suiter? Say passed. With my guru bridge partner :) I would bid 2 ♠ showing a near to open bicolor at that vuln. If allowed 2NT asks feature. With a random partner I would bid 1♠Yet I do not know "leaping michaels" is on or off in system card (tho a bit more HCP support or favorable vuln may need) One can smoothly follow the room with classic 2 ♠ overcall. Yet 3rd and 4th unknown. So it all depends partner's best. Then believe me it does not matter even if passed. Say partner has 1NT values. lol. Noone can stop the game. (I know, i might be a daydreamer) Who knows a trump contract easy but a sinking NT gets the money with a friendly lead in MPs. Heureka ? ♥ Does p still sits opposite overcaller in following board ? :) ♥
gwnn
Erm. 2♠.
CSGibson
2♠. More dangerous not to bid than to bid, especially with a run-out suit if it hits the fan.

jikl
2♠, anything else is rolling the dice. If we want to actually resort to HCP here, there are still about 19-24 out with 2 people left (not that HCP will mean as much with this much distribution in the first 2 hands. If you bid ♣s as a lead director, you lose the ♠ suit which is your best bet when both 4♥ and 4♠ are making; partner will be hard pressed to pass on 2♥ - 3♣ - 4♥ - P (or X) - P - 4♠. Any 2 suiter might get you up too high without partner knowing what to do since you are sort of intermediate and might give them too much information if they happen to buy the hand; this might be a good time to hide your ♣ suit unless partner starts asking some questions. Tcyk
Holding: ♠QJxxx♥Jx♦x♣AKxxx All Vulnerable, dealer opens 2♥ (weak), you're next... The hand is a little too weak for leaping Michaels so be satisfied with 1♠
Free
The hand is a little too weak for leaping Michaels so be satisfied with 1♠ That would be an unsufficient call... 2♠ wtp
Fluffy
1♠ is a nice tactic, partner then won't expect full values :P. I hate my suit quality, but after hearing for many years in this forums that the guy with shortness has to act, I think I am also on the dark side now and bid 2♠. Codo
I know that the Forum Call (besides my lone voice) is a 100 % 2♠.I am still not convinced and need an opening to act in this position. I pass.Second choice is of course 2 Spade and maby e with QJT9x of spades I would chose it. Even to think about NLM is an overbid.

This hand isn't an opening? :) It is, UR right, but I need a better hand then this to intervene in this position. Sorry for the wrong wording. mikestar
To me, 2♠ is a no brainer here--make the J♥ a small card and I have a rule of 20 opener with all honors in my suits. This would be be a clear 2♥ over a 1♠ opening if my majors were swapped.
