655321
♠A. No lead is very attractive. At least by starting on the trumps we might be able to stop them ruffing in the short hand. With only an invitational hand opposite the 1NT opener perhaps they will struggle to get to 10 tricks.

gnasher
A heart. It's obviously right to defend passively, and this is the best I can do. The fact that no lead is attractive doesn't justify a diamond lead.
MFA
I agree with gnasher.
Edmunte1
Agree with defensive lead. Anything may blow a trick, but the heart lead seems to have the smallest chances to do it.
y66
Tossup for me between SA and Hx. SA.
skjaeran
I'm leading a red suit, the black suit holdings are both very unattractive to lead from, since they might very easily blow a trick. It's more or less a tossup between the red suits. The length is my decider, so I'm going for the ♥5.
han
Heart is the robot lead (see "shift in time" by the Granovetters).
gnasher
Heart is the robot lead Does that mean that it's good, bad or indifferent?
han
Well, they recommend often making robot leads in the book. In particular they say leading from Jxx(x) is safer than leading from Qxx(x) and you should often lead passively. Now, we may not agree with the latter but if we want to lead passively then a heart seems like a good idea.
MickyB
A heart lead picked up the fourth heart trick for them, so having guessed trumps (pard had T9x) declarer could discard a club loser. A diamond leaves declarer with the most guessing to do, in practice a spade will probably beat it too.
mtvesuvius
I would lead a small heart... Despite the consequences
jakob_r
i agree with the ♥leaders as well...
OleBerg
Assuming a 15-17 NT, I lead a heart. The weaker the NT, the more inclined I would be to lead ♠A. (The stronger the responder hand gets, the smaller the risk of blowing a trick with that lead.)
OleBerg
Heart is the robot lead Does that mean that it's good, bad or indifferent? It means that non-expert-players should make the lead, instead of getting fancy. How relevant it is to anyone here, I don't even dare comment. :P
