Califdude
How would you bid this one?♠ AK109xxxx♥ x♦ x♣ K10x Partner deals.1C-1H-2H-P2NT-P-? Was my cue bid of 2H appropriate? Was there a better bid?Given the above what should have been my next bid? As always, thanks for replies.
Cascade
1♠ is infinitely better than 2♥. A good general rule is that a direct cue-bid after partner opens or overcalls should show primary support for partner's suit.

CSGibson
1♠ natural and forcing for the first round. Now I might be tempted by 4♣ if my partner thought it was gerber, on the way to 4♠
mcphee
1S after 1H and see what takes place we could easily have a slam. Cue bids as Wayne mentions generally indicate a fit with partner.

P_Marlowe
Hi, Bid your suits. Simple advice, but if you try to follow thisone, lots of things will get simpler. As it is, the cue in this sitiuation promises fitfor openers suit, at least this is one of thestandard meanings, the second meaning is,that it asks for a stopper, and does this helpto describe your hand? No, you have 8 spades, start bidding them. The way the auction developed, you got lucky, bid you suit, 4S I guess. With kind regardsMarlowe
