Quarky
Playing 4suit transfers, when the auction goes 1nt-minor transfer - pre-accept - ?What do bids above the sign off 3m bid mean, typically? I held ---543AK98KQJ963 Pard opened 1nt, RHO 2C single-suiter. I bid 2S (sys on xfer to clubs), pard pre-accepted with 2NT, and I bid 3D. Pard now bid 3nt, i tried for slam again with 4C, which only got raised to 5. Pard held AK10xAxQxxxAxx
han
Good to have an agreement, I play it shows shortness but some others claim natural is better (I don't believe them of course). Your partner had a monster no matter what 3D was, you have shown slam interest and partner has the absolute nuts.
neilkaz
PD has a supermax after you xfer to ♣ and inv slam. I though standard that the next bid after a preaccept was shortness. This is something to discuss with a regular pd and your approach is also OK, IMHO looking for fitting honors and basically implying shortness elsewhere. PD clearly has to do more than bid 5♣ here. G-Bear
[hv=n=sh543dak98ckqj963&s=sak10xhaxdqxxxcaxx]133|200|[/hv] I think the bidding could have gone: W N E S 1N2♥ 2♠ P 2NP 3♦ P 3♥P 3♠ P 4NP 5♠ P 6♣ If your 3♦ is a cue bid (and a slam try), then partner should have cooperated and cue bid the ♥A. Then you could have cue bid ♠s. Holding both the ♠AK, partner would know you must be void and can now use RKCB to check for controls and bid the slam.
