kfay
[hv=d=e&v=e&s=shakj98xxdq107xxcx]133|100|Scoring: IMP(1NT)-?[/hv] 1NT = 15-17 Feel free to use whatever system you want but at the table we were playing Woolsey. (2♦ = 1 major 2♥ = hearts and a minor). Double ostensibly shows a major-minor 2-suiter with a longer minor but I guess I'm not sure if it can be used to show big hands like this. Anyway, what do you think best strategy is here?
655321
I would just bid 4♥. If LHO bids 4♠ and partner doesn't double, I bid 5♦.
han
4H seems canonical. :P

Cascade
4♥. More of a problem when 4♠ comes back to me. However the favourable colours will encourage me to bid more.
han
Hells yeah, and the 7-5 shape!
kfay
Ok I also bid 4♥ and it didn't really occur to me to bid anything else. Played only a few boards with this partner but he seemed a little batty.... the auction continued as expected, maybe: (1NT)-4♥-(4♠)-5♥(5♠)-? Since you all bid 4♥ so condifently maybe you're not disappointed that you didn't walk the dog on this one but I sorta was. Press on?
