Hanoi5
[hv=d=s&v=n&s=sxhjxxxxxdxxc8xxx]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] You're West and bidding goes: Pass Pass 1♠ X2♥* ??? Two hearts is alerted as one-under, showing a 7-9 HCP support hand in spades. So, what's your bid? and what do your options mean?
655321
I Pass. Because I have no points? If it turns out that partner has half the pack we can still get to 4♥.If 4♠ comes back to me, with my singleton spade and 6-4 shape I will probably bid 5♥. Agree completely with pass and the first statement, disagree completely with the second statement.
Finch
I pass, due to insufficient high cards to take a voluntary action.
helene_t
If I consider bidding 5♥ over 4♠ I would rather show my hearts now to get p involved in the decision. I voted 3♥ since dbl is available for showing hearts with more points. But maybe double should just show general strength and 3♥ be an honest bid? ArtK78
Pass for now. I don't want to give partner the impression that I actually have values. I will get another chance to bid. But if LHO passes out the 2♥ transfer, I will live with that. :)
han
Pass now is clear, may bid later.
skjaeran
I pass, since any other call would show values I don't remotely hold. If partner comes to life again, I migth make a call later in the auction.
Echognome
I pass, since any other call would show values I don't remotely hold. If partner comes to life again, I migth make a call later in the auction. Partner won't necessarily have to come to life again. What would you call if the bidding came back around: (P) - P - (1♠) - Dbl(2♥) - P - (2♠) - P(P) - ? Here I think we would want to bid 3♥ having already passed initially and passed again over 2♥. However, I do agree with yours (and everyone else's) general point of limiting our hand even further before taking any action.
whereagles
Obvious 3NT bid  Since I'm a passed hand and RHO made a bid of 7-9 hcp, this can hardly be natural and thus must suggest a save over 4♠.
