gwnn
1♣-x-p-1NTp-2♥-p-2♠p-2NT-p-3♦ What's going on? Which bids were forcing and which bid, if any, set a GF? Give possible example hands, if any.
cherdano
In my style (solid 1N advances and needing a pretty good hand for double-and-bid) 2♥ is logically game forcing.
655321
Don't know what is going on, but for me too 2♥ is a game force. I don't think I would ever bid like this.
jdonn
2♥ game forcing.2♠ possible (maybe value showing like KQx xx xxx ATxxx.)2NT obviously possible, no example needed.Ok I admit it, 3♦ I can hardly imagine. Maybe natural on a bad suit, like if my above example was 3244? But I'm really reaching.
whereagles
in theory: dbler has a good GF hand and responder some 3253 in practice: sounds like dbler has 5 hearts and 12-14 hcp and responder some 4243
andy_h
Agree with that 2H is GF. Don't know what 3D is.
TMorris
No real idea what is going on. I wonder however if someone thinks 2♥ is a transfer to ♠ in which case 3♦ might be trial bid. I can see no reason for anyone to think this however.......
ArtK78
The consensus is that 2♥ is game forcing. It seems to me that responder has three hearts (or honor doubleton) and is cue bidding the spade and diamond aces, just in case opener has a monster hand. For example: AxxxxxAxxJTxx

For example: AxxxxxAxxJTxx You can always bid 3♥, there is plenty of room to explore. But who knows, maybe they did just mean it as cuebids. If so I'm sure we will hear heart support on the next round.

I wouldn't take any of these bids as forcing, let alone game forcing.2nt and 3♦ could come close to being forcingBill
skjaeran
The combination of double, 1NT and 2♥ is GF. That's obvious, IMO. To set trumps you support hearts, 2♠ isn't a cuebid agreeing hearts. I agree with Josh, it shows values, most probably HHx. 2NT should be natural, showing a balanced/semi-balanced hand. 3♦ is a mystery to me. It might be a week 5-bagger, something like KQx xx Txxxx KJx. Not that I can see why I'd introduce this suit instead of bidding 3NT.
han
I agree with everybody, 2H is gameforcing and 2S shows values, it denies 3 hearts. One would expect that the 1NT bidder has said all there is to say about his hand, but I guess his partner is asking for more information. He has a diamond honor. My guess: KJxxxKxxK10xxx
cherdano
3♦ should obviously show a maximum, and should probably deny a very good club stopper. How about KJx xx KJxx Kxxx (make it slightly weaker if that too much for your 1NT style). We want to be really encouraging (in case partner has slam interest) without implying anything better in terms of heart support than 1NT already promised.
