hrothgar
Hi All Thought that it might be worthwhile to provide a few recommendations about where to eat in/around Boston. Please note: I am basing these recommendations about where I go to get good food. This is not remotely the same as close to the playing site... However, these are all places where I've eaten on multiple occasions and always enjoyed myself Seafood: Kingfish Hall wins this one... 5 minute walk from Government Center T (Green Line) Sunday Brunch: I think that the Blue Room in Kendal Square (hands down) does the best brunch in town. Reservations required. 6-7 minutes walk from the Kendall Square T stop (Red Line) Grilled Food: The East Coast Grill - My favorite place to eat in Boston15 minutes walk from the central square station (Red Line) BBQ + Beer Redbones - Lovely place with an incredible beer selection. 5 minute walk from the Davis Square T stop... Sushi Uni is by far my favorite place for sushi in the city (very expensive) 2 minute walk from the Hynes Convention Center Stop. Maybe 15-20 minutes from the playing site. Let me say this again. VERY expensive, very good.
barmar
No Thai recommendations? I thought that was one of your favorite styles. Or are you worried that your taste in Thai food (extremely spicy) might not match others'?
Lobowolf
Any Indian food suggestions?
keylime
Uni was well worth the cash - very, very good food there.
hrothgar
Any Indian food suggestions? Regretfully, I am unable to provide many recommendations for Indian, Thai, Chinese, etc... I'm sure that Boston (proper) has plenty of great places for ethnic cusine, however, the places that I normally frequent are out in the suburbs. (And of little use to anyone without a car). Zagats (or something similar) is probably your best bet if you're looking inside boston/Cambridge When I created this list, I was trying to come up with places that I have eaten that are accessible via the subway system. If you want places you can drive to, I'd be happy to make recommendations. However, I can't think of many places worth driving to, especially for anyone living in CA. (Though there is a nice Sichuan place in Medford called Chilli Garden) Sorry
JoAnneM
Now if I were going to Boston, and sadly I am not, Thai would be the furtherest thing from my mind. I was there a year or so ago and I seem to remember great seafood and beans.
