gwnn
[hv=d=n&v=b&n=sqt9xxhtxxxdcaxxx&s=sjxhakqxdkqxxcqtx]133|200|Scoring: IMP[/hv] NW pass, S opens 1♣, showing 16+ hcp any shape. NS like light openings. W will bid 1♦, N will x, showing 6-8 or so. East bids 3♦, the last bid from their side. So p-p-1♣-1♦ 16+x-3♦-.. 6-8 You're NS, take it from here. Of course you're encouraged to criticize the methods if so you wish.
whereagles
pass pass .. 1♣ .. 1♦dbl ... 3♦ pass passdbl ... pass ?? now 3♥ or pass, depending on how lucky I feel. If 3♥, then it might go 3♥ 4♦ (good 6-8, singleton/void)4♥ pass
jdonn
1♣-(1♦)-X-(3♦)P----P---X---P3♥--P--4♥--PP----P Of course there is no need for north to do anything more if all south can do over the double is bid 3♥ and not even jump to game. The only difference I could really picture is north bidding 3♠ over 3♥, in case south had decided to make this bid with 3-3 in the majors. helene_t
My silly action at table: As a true Larry Cohen disciple, I didn't double the second time but bid 3♠. That was not such a success as Csaba bid 3NT
P_Marlowe
My silly action at table: As a true Larry Cohen disciple, I didn't double the second time but bid 3♠. That was not such a success as Csaba bid 3NT I kibbed this, and I found your bid tough, very tough.I think I would have made a neg. X, the alternativebeing 4D, if you think the hand worth a game force. With kind regardsMarlowe
Codo
I had bid 3 NT with Czabas hand, but that had been no success, so in the post mortem I agree with the way the other contributors bid it to 4 HEart. As we are allowed to critizise the bidding:I belive that a direct 1 Spade followed by a Heart bid had described the shape much better. And I had bid this hand with this shape as a game forcing. This is not just "6-8 HCPS".
