P_Marlowe
Why was this not III? The madness would have decreased. With kind regardsMarlowe

vang
I hope you'll post the full hands later showing 3NT was ok on those specific boards and proving everyone else except you should "get straightjacket and sedatives ASAP" ;-)

I will post the full hands later. Some of them did roll home, but on all hands, one or more of the Non-3NT-bids would definately be considered the sane choice. kfay
This is the only one I really considered. It really just depends on if I'm in a gambling mood or not.
MFA
3NT is an overbid, 3♦ better.
ArtK78
3♦. If pard is interested in 3NT, he can bid 3♥.
Finch
Is there some reason we can't bid 2NT?If we are not passing the double for penalties but bidding NT, it must be on the basis of a long suit. (Actually, for me 2NT would be offering partner a choice of minor suit partscores, which is quite a good reason not to bid it. But I thought I'd float it as a suggestion...) Anyway, I don't see the need to bid 3NT here, given that we are fairly minimum for our double, and 3D surely shows at least 5 of them (particularly if 2NT is choice of contract). I'd rather have something resembling a strong likelihood of 9 tricks to bid 3NT... how about the same hand with the Ace of spades in addition?
