These "how to bid with a pickup partner" problems are brutal.

 

So let's see, I'll start with 1♠ because my pickup partner might pass 2♠ thinking it's weak.

 

Over my partner's 1NT, I would worry that partner would pass any bid I make. I guess to bid 2♦ and hope that partner plays that as forcing (even better if partner plays that as artificial and game forcing). But everything is a guess of course.

I would bid 4C and go to slam opposite 3 and stop in 4 opposite 2. Not very pretty but I think slam rates to be good opposite 3 aces (HA is not useless), and rates to be bad opposite 2 aces, and further I don't feel like I will ever have a confident auction that produces better results than that since we don't know what we play.

I wish I could bid 1♦ here in some ways to find out about ♥s and potential wastage there. However, after the inevitable 1♠ bid I would bid 3♦ as a pretend suit and then make it up as I go along from there.

I ended up taking Jikl's route and ended up taking a risk and blasting 6C, only to see partner run at the first sign of X :lol:. After that, things didn't exactly get prettier. Don't remember partner's hand exactly (and I left before the bloodshed began), but it was something like:

The 3♦ bid sounded too much like a 5-5. 2♦, then bidding clubs, then bidding 6♣ would probably stop partner converting to diamonds - as well as indicating your heart shortage if 2♦ was natural, stopping partner from running to NT.

First of all: There is no reason for leaving, if I had

a partner, who would bid like this and left, he would

be finished for me.

I can stand misunderstandings, I can stand errors,

but I cant stand it, if the guy makes problematic bids

and runs afterwards.

 

That said, 6 NT is stupid, 3D ill advised.
