Cascade
After a raise what is 2NT 1any Pass 2any 2NT? Strong or unusual?
rogerclee
Unusual. A side note is that a lot of players now are playing 1S p 2S 2N is hearts and a minor because of the importance of partner knowing you have hearts because you might still have game, and LHO might be about to bid 3S. Obviously you lose when you have the minors if you play this.
gwnn
Unusual. Probably strong if 1♣-p-2♣ (and 2♣ wasn't forcing). Not sure how strong - I wouldn't feel comfortable doing it with just a median strong NT.
paulg
Unusual. Two places to play. Paul
gnasher
Any two suits.
MFA
Natural as I play.
dake50
What's not in double/ bids? 2-suiters? Which are best shown directly? Which try one then second if space and safe? Systemic, choose your accent. I like H-m in 2NT.
Tola18
Kibitzing, I saw the other day two young swedish experts discuss it. Both are feasible, but the better of them advocated it as unusual: the 44+ in minors is more frequent then appropriate strong NT holding. They both agreed on it. peachy
Unusual. Strong hand should Pass if balanced or near balanced. His partner has virtually nothing and attempting to play 2NT or something on the 3-level will end in minus score, I would think 100% of the time. Even without agreements, Unusual is the only thing that makes sense (to me, that is), whether it is for the minors or some other "two places to play". pclayton
I play it natural in two partnerships and unusual in one. I have no strong preference.
han
But do you have unusual preferences?

jikl
I play it as unusual. As a side point what do people play these as (using the majors so they are confirmed real suits to supress arguments: 1♥ P 1♠ ? What is: 2♥2♠2NT I have agreements for these but interested to hear what others play. Sean
han
I would play 2H Michaels, 2S natural, 2NT minors.

This is also part of SAYC but of course that has little bearing on the question... But there are at least two ways, Dbl and 2NT, to show the unbid suits (third way if you play Sandwich NT) so we don't need a third or a fourth way to show unbid suits. 2NT is unusual. pclayton
I would play 2H Michaels, 2S natural, 2NT minors. Ditto.
