TimG
If I double it is because I am treating this as a balanced hand too good to overcall 1N, so now I bid 2N.

Walddk
I think pass is the winner in the long run. If I double, 2NT must be the rebid over 2♥. Some may find it "shocking" that you can pass a 20 count, but if there is a hand that would, this must be it. In fact, sometimes you can pass even stronger hands. Here is one from the Danish Premier League in 1977/78: ♠ A♥ AQJ854♦ KQx♣ AQJ Vul against not RHO opens 1♥ (4+ cards). Your call? At all 12 tables it went all pass for +400. I don't think it comes as a major surprise that no game makes in your direction. Roland
mikeh
Pass Might not work out, but I don't like doubling and bidding notrump on this hand, which is what I endplay myself into doing if my double fetches 2♥, which isn't exactly a surprise. RHO is in 2nd seat so won't be psyching.
pclayton
Easy pass. I'm happy to defend 1♠, doubled or not.
NickRW
Yeah - pass might work out in this case - though doubling and rebidding 2N is an option too - seems close to me. For those that pass, what do you want to do with this one however[hv=s=sakxxxhdaxcakqtxx]133|100|RHO opens a possibly 4 card 1♠[/hv] If you double, LHO will pass and partner bids the predictable 2♥

NickRW
This hand is radically different than the OP. Fair point. Though not radically different in the sense that you weren't really expecting any opening from RHO let alone one in one of your suits. han
That hand is radically different in the sense that on the first pass is clear and on the second pass is nuts (of course both in my humble opinion).

IMHO: The OP hand would be a clear pass at green, but is a lot less clear vul against not.
P_Marlowe
Hi, I would go with double, after 2H I would bid 2NT.Passing strong hands is fine, but since we are red and they are green, the points I get for the undertricks wont compensate a possible gameour way. With kind regardsMarlowe
mcphee
PASS. For those who want to make a t/o dble and bid 2NT over partners expected 2H bid I wish you all the best. I suppose you also have a plan over 3H next. I just do not get the reason for bidding. Big deal we have 20, lets be partners with our RHO because the dude we have now has nada. I do not expect the bidding to go all pass and I will be better informed later and bale to make some decision at that time.
