kenrexford
1♥ is sick at IMP's, IMO. Partner will be hard-pressed to stretch for games on the next deal, he won't trust leading my suit against the next spade contract, or he will bid like a lunatic to make up the -1100. 2♥ is beyond silliness. Not to mention, this should be intermediate, IMO. 1NT Raptor is excellent. Play that more often here. Especially when I come to the table. Pass? drinbrasil
I dont bid 1H. For one level i have ate least one of two:good suit or good hcp.1H also can help opponents to describe better how many spades they have (doubling with 4 and bidding with 5). Free
If you read my post as suggesting that it was the 1H call that lead to a great result, and therefore 1H is a good bid then, you misunderstood my intentions. Often people like to know what happened at the table. I didn't misunderstood you, I was just questioning the merits your overcall

If ther cards justify declaring 2♥, I'd much rather bid it right away.
Apollo81
I would not overcall 1♥ because I don't want the lead AND it makes it easier for LHO to show how many spades he has. Switch my majors and I would consider it...
