It's hard to know whether 3NT or 5♣ will make more often, but my gut says 5♣, and this bid is also far better for slam bidding since partner may be able to raise it when he would pass 3NT. pclayton Posted September 30, 2008 Report Share Posted September 30, 2008 I'll try 3N too, but I don't hate 5♣. I do hate 4♣ which is really losing bridge. I think to beat 3N the opponents are going to have to find a soft spot in hearts probably. Pick some various hands for pard and 3N and 5♣ both need something specific. Sometimes its the same thing, but 3N scores so great. To me the best argument for 5♣ is that sometimes pard will bid 6. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
