You're in 3rd seat; RHO opens 2S, passed around to partner, who bids 3D. RHO passes and it's your call.
the hog
Definitely pushing to game.Hard to think of a hand that couldn't open a weak 2D and then can back in vul with 3D. Not playing weak 2 bids?
kfay
I pass.
ron
We do have a weak 2D available, sorry, should have mentioned that.
Codo
If we have a weak two in Diamonds avaiable but Pd did not bid it, I would play him now for a hand close to an opener with a 4 card Heart suit and 6 Diamonds. If he has 6 running diamonds and out, I can count (hope for) three tricks (Ace, Ace queen) in high cards and two in club/heart ruffs for a total of 11 tricks.I will go for 5 Diamond. Maybe 3 NT is better, but it is equally possible that that is flirting with disaster.
pclayton
Very interesting problem. What are our requirements / attitudes for weak' 2s? Balancing? Even in a loose style, pard should have some standards for coming in r/w 1st chair with a weak 2 if I'm understanding the problem correctly. I'm putting pard on x Kxx Axxxxx xxx and I don't expect pard to ever cooperate with a hand like this. Boys get the rope! 5♦.
skjaeran
Hmm, partner passed originally. I guess he either has 4-6 in the reds or an empty suit like Axxxxx. I'm echoing the 5♦ chorus. Expect it to be at least odds on.
