ajm218
playing strong and five and a 4 card ♦ suit, 1♦ (2♠) ? [hv=s=sxhkj9xxdxxcakxxx]133|100|[/hv] if you could also define what 3♥ and x, something, 3♥ would be too... :)
ArtK78
I would bid 3♥. I think the hand is just good enough to force to game. If I were slighly more pessimistic, I would make a negative double and bid hearts later if given the opportunity.
rogerclee
3♥, this is not a minimum.
crazy4hoop
3♥. Doubling and bidding hearts ought to show a little bit (maybe more than a little bit?) less than this, maybe something like xx KQ10xxx xx Kxx?
han
I think this is a clear 3H bid, even though I am guessing what playing strong and five means. Are we playing five-card majors with a good partner?

cherdano
Agree with 3♥, I don't think this is close.
OleBerg
3♥ Dont like it, but likes all alternatives even less.
jdonn
I will bid 3♥, but I like it a lot less than most others seem to. Even make the hand just a little bit worse and I would double instead, so I consider this near the border.
gnasher
3♥. Maybe we could find a better use for 2NT in this auction. Something like:2NT = clubs, at least invitational3C = diamond support3D = hearts, six cards any strength or five game-forcing3H = five hearts, exactly invitational3S = balanced, no stop, not four hearts
the hog
Clear X. 3H places far too much emphasis on the H suit at the exclusion of C. After 3NT are the 3H bidders going to bid 4C? I doubt it!
Free
Dbl, we have the other suits...
gnasher
Clear X. 3H places far too much emphasis on the H suit at the exclusion of C. After 3NT are the 3H bidders going to bid 4C? I doubt it! After dbl (pass) 3♦, or dbl (pass) 2NT, are you going to bid 3 non-forcing hearts, or 3 forcing hearts, or something else? 655321
3♥, this hand is strong enough to show the 5th heart.
peachy
3H. Forcing for one round and at this level a free bid is virtually gameforcing.Negative Double, followed by a 3H bid, shows 5+ hearts in a hand not strong enough to make a direct 3H call. Speaking of negative doubles: a negative double does not promise the "unbid suits", it promises the "unbid major". The only time negative double promises both unbid suits is 1C (1D) Dbl. Of course other agreements can be made but I think what I play is what one might call modern standard.
P_Marlowe
X. This keeps both suits in the picture, over 3D, I will bid 3H, should be forcing ... With kind regardsMarlowe
