Chat Assistant is re-sizeable, 'always on top' and does not close or hide between other actions on BBO. This allows you to compose a message while also playing the cards. Chat Assistant will optionally also convert input like 6d into 6!D that will show on BBO chat as 6♦. Chat Assistant has 5 'fast set' radio buttons so you can change from kibitzing, say South to All with a single click. http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q292/RogerPf/ii_y_2008/CA_column.jpg Aimed at those who, like teachers need to post large chat messages it also has support for dictation programs like Nuance Naturally Speaking 10 so making it very easy to dictate your chat. But let me turn this into a feature request. Please could we have an option to have two input boxes the top one being only one line high would send messages only the table and the re-sizeable below would send messages only to the Kibs. Dwingo Posted September 25, 2008 Report Share Posted September 25, 2008 The reason, I asked If I use OKScript to self alert my bids, I sometimes have the alerts going to both Kibitzers and Opps ( In Private ). This is good for kibs, as they get to know, what the alert message that I send to the Opps in private. It so happens, if the alert description is a bit long ( to say fill more than 1 line ), the messages that go gets truncated, causing problems. To overcome this problem, I was thinking of sending the script to your Chat Assistant Chat box ( as it has multi line input) instead of BBO Chat box. I have not experimented as yet, but was thinking aloud, if this could solve my problem. Hence my request for simultaneous chat to both Kibs & Opps. One after the other should also be OK. But it didn't work well with me ;) When I click : when I click on N the chat is in the room..When I try to talk to a single person and click on his ID, it doesn't work either.. They are for kibitizers to QUICKLY swap from kibbing one seat to kibbing another (or A = All). Yes - to chat to a person there is an extra step. Click on that persons name as normal and THEN click the - Grab - Button. This Grabs the name and shows it to you. I hope this helps Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

YOu may only need to turn off the single letter C D H S processing. OR Click the "Mail" button - this shows the normal chat box for one message which does (of course) not convert. Allows you to choose between Return doing a new line or sending the message. The above reported "URLs converted to ♥♦♠♣" issue. Conversion stops at the first / or \ and restarts after the space space. Also C: D: etc will not be converted. "Cut/Copy and Paste" work fine for me here. I use Ctrl-C to copy and Ctrl-V to paste and I can copy from a file and paste it into Assistants input box and click 'send' and off it goes no problem. How are you trying to do your Copy and Paste ? Which Windows OS / Version are you running? If you mean the main Chat area on BBO cannot be coppied (It cannot be selected to copy) that is correct but it is that way for all users all the time and is nothing to do with me. I hope this helps. Mariner1 Posted October 31, 2008 Report Share Posted October 31, 2008 The Chat Assistant seems to work well with Vista Home Premium 32 bit on my Laptop except for the slider. The slider seems to have no effect. If I type too many characters then the 1st line starting with Mariner1: will be blank and then the next line will be all text. In a multi-line sentence this is repeated until the last line and then it shows as it should. Mariner1:Then the messages starts and xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Mariner1:and the next line is here and xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Mariner1:and finally the last line is correct. These # of characters above of course were limited by this Forum. So to control the number of Characters I can use in the Chat Assistant I have to make the Length of the Box the max and then remember to not type past that without starting a new line. Overall I like the program and it would be great for commentators. Maybe a Spell Checker? How about a common phase popin where we could click a line in a seperate previouly saved box and have it put into the Chat Assistant Window. Using firefox, I got the announcement that my security settings were blocking the download. Explorer gave the same result. You can add the email address to your trusted sites (if you trust it, of course. I did trust it). And then it downloads. I'm looking forward to using it.
