I would play this as showing a heart stopper, but denying a diamond stopper, forcing.

edit: X would be both suits stopped, and penalty oriented as a result, and going through lebensohl would show only diamonds stopped for me. Have no idea how much of that is standard.

Hi,

Our agreements:

#1 we play unusal vs. unusal, in case they have shown

two suits, hence 2H would show a strong (inv.+) hand

with spades or clubs, depending on your version

#2 unusual is of, if the suit length of the suits shown, could

still be 4 cards.

From this would follow for us, that 2H is natural / nonforcing,

the nonforcing part because 2NT is Lebensohl.

With kind regards

Marlowe

Without any special agreement this is "I wana play 2H" ty for your imput partner, amen. You hold KJxxxx of H and nothing else are you passing? Generally we play lebensohl, the fact RHO holds 4H does not mean they have all their marbles lined up and may be proud of Qxxx AJxxx because it "fits" the system. Dble 2D was more in line of a "sound raise to 2N" can stand to play for penalties, some play 100% penalty.

sr - I thought OP was both majors....

My advice: This should not have an impact

on the answer, you may well assume 2D showes

44, say, they play Cappelletti.

I agree - but if dbl is take/out, as in "I think we got them" - the meaning will differ some when the president suit is not bid, no?

Is DBL not negative with spades inv+ in this position? And dbl after "2=majors", is simply take/out - or the same meaning as after 1m-(2m)-dbl - "I will penalty dbl one of their suits"?

Thus, I would think 2 is both minors, and 2 is 6 c minor suit, weak or strong. 3m could be invitational. And - dbl = spades

We play that the double of 2D showes a bal. hand with

roughly inv.+ values, say a natural 2NT bid or better,

which is looking for a penalty, subsequent doubles being

penalty.

A delayed double of 2M would be for t/o.

2H and 2S as natural to play, 2NT as Lebensohl

Playing this method you may miss a 4-4 fit, but not sure

that this will harm you a lot, trumps breaking 4-1 at best.

...................................................................................

We would play the double of 2H as t/o, the difference for us

is, that the 2D bid gives us another round, this add. round we

dont have after 2H.

With kind regards

Marlowe
