Easy 3S?

This reminds me of a hand from the US team trials. I think it was also 15 with a stiff Q. Most people bid 3 and went down in game, a few people bid 2. I would bid 3 but 2 could easily work better. Really uncomfortable hand for me but as meck says when faced with the choice of an overbid or an underbid go with the overbid.

[hv=d=e&v=n&s=skqxxhaj8xdkxxxcq]133|100|Scoring: IMP

You open 1D, playing 4 card diamond suit, strong NT. Partner responds 1S, do you rebid 3S on this or only 2S. No pips at all really (yes I only bid 2).[/hv]
IMO 3 = 10, 2 = 6, 4 = 4.

Ok I only bid 2 and we had game on :P But fair play.

Does the stiff club being the queen make any difference? Just it wouldn't have done in this case.

Not sure what you mean Ed. If the queen is small (ie if you have a 13-count) then I think it would be a clear 2S bid so yes the queen is better than nothing. If you would move the queen into another suit (so that you have a 4441 15-count with a small stiff club) then I think it would be an even clearer 3S bid.

Whatever you meant, that has to answer your question.
