Most people bid 3 and went down in game, a few people bid 2. I would bid 3 but 2 could easily work better. In a regular partnership I would bid 2 and let partner get involved, confident we have the right tools to continue. I think this is the right bid on value (although it's certainly top of the range) but aside from that, people seem to try for game pretty aggressively after a single raise, so that makes it even easier for me. Just it wouldn't have done in this case. Not sure what you mean Ed. If the queen is small (ie if you have a 13-count) then I think it would be a clear 2S bid so yes the queen is better than nothing. If you would move the queen into another suit (so that you have a 4441 15-count with a small stiff club) then I think it would be an even clearer 3S bid.
